Multilevel inverters have been widely used in various applications, as they provide output voltage with better quality, lower dv/dt, and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). inverter such Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) uses a large number of semiconductor devices (IGBTs diodes) which negatively affects the cost efficiency. Recently, three-level (3L) F-type has proposed switch stresses, cost, losses compared to 3L T-type NPC inverters. This paper proposes five-level (5L) an extension for inverter. Like 5L inverter, voltages involved dc-link capacitors should be kept at certain level.
